Breaking News: Trailblazer in Immunology, Professor Rose Leke, Honored as Laureate for Africa and the Arab States.

In a very worthy recognition of her commitment and service to public health, the observation that Professor Rose Leke has been presented with the Laureate for Africa and the Arab States title cannot be overemphasized.

The present achievements of Professor Leke are numerous, and she is known for her work in the Obs and Gynaecology department where she endeavored to enhance pregnancy outcomes in malaria-prone areas, she stood firm in the fight against polio, and has significantly supported the immunization programs in Africa.

Her work in this area has been exceptional exploring aspects of pregnancy-associated malaria, now opening up good light towards enhancement of Women and Children’s health. Such accomplishments do not only entail research, she is very influential in the formulation of public health policies and practices in Cameroon and other parts of Africa.

It should be also noted that Professor Leke did not only contribute to the extension of human scientific knowledge but also contributed to development of training of young scientists. Due to her responsibly educating young generations of girls and being a positive example herself, she was able to influence the development of many young women scientists who will further strengthen the positions of female leadership in this industry.

For this distinction, Professor Leke has been recognized at national, regional, and international level. She has remained a role model and driving force behind leadership and change in public health and immunology thus remaining an icon of hope in the scientific fraternity.
