Melina Scotto Shaping the Future of Better Cybersecurity!

Melina Scotto sits as the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Hilton. As such, she spearheads cybersecurity programs that improve the customers’ experience while protecting data in various privacy regulation such as ISO, PCI-DSS, GDPR, PIPL, among others. Her experience is diverse, covering both the conventional data centers together with cloud solutions to reflect her dynamism in the ever-changing technology sector.

She started her career back in the 90s as a database manager in a transportation non-profit organization and procuring networks and being a member of the President’s Y2K security committee. This committee was very instrumental in the formation of what came to be known as the Department of Homeland Security post 9/11. Melina then moved on to global health systems, where he worked with John Snow Inc with a focus on delivery, availability of life saving anti- retroviral drugs in PEPFAR countries.

In the early 2000s, she joined George Washington Medical Faculty Associates as a Network Security Engineer in technical security in a changing environment. The job description progressed within her as she started to offer dominant classes about cybersecurity subjects such as HIPAA Security and Risk Assessment. Melina has also worked for the National Institutes of Health before she was serving in different roles in GDIT and served as the Federal Health CISO. Some of her accomplishments include achieving multiple cybersecurity certifications, including CISSP and CCSP, to advance her efforts to protect data in the federal and private realms.
