Women Breaking New Ground in Biotechnology

Dr. Hayat Sindi is a remarkable and pioneering figure in the field of science and technology and has made substantial progress not only as a biotechnologist but also as a motivational speaker and a stimulator of women in STEM. She is among the first women from the Gulf who have been able to complete her Ph.D. in biotechnology from Cambridge University and by so doing, was a good example to women, wherever they are. She is also the CEO and founder, The Institute for Quality “IQ”

Its most recognised gizmos of feminism include the Institute for Imagination and Ingenuity (i2), proving her fight for women’s rights. This platform is intended to ensure that young women get the support from a mentor, necessary tools and encouragement that will help her convert his/her ideas into solutions. In this way, Dr. Sindi contributes to the building process of a more diverse culture for female scientists and everyone interested in science.

From Dr. Sindi’s career, we are able to see how women can take the opportunities of leadership and be a model of leaving a mark in the society, especially in male-oriented areas. By continuing to advocate for women scientists and pushing for more girls to embrace science education, she has remained a role model to the younger female scientists.
